The Wolf Hook in German heraldry

Many places in Germany include runic emblems - especially the Wolf Hook - in their heraldic history. These are just a few examples from many hundreds.

This shield contains the Wolf Hook - the Saxon white horse, and the German Eagle

Another Saxon design - this shield includes the Hengest and Hors crossed horse head gable ends.

From Nienhagen

This shield includes the Bundschuh symbol of the peasant revolts.

This is the old coat of arms of Harbarnsen-Irmenseul

The new coat of arms - two sunwheels and a Spear (of Wotan?)
