April is here!

April is a month sacred to the Germanic goddess Ostara. Christianity took the name and applied it to their festival of Easter. Across the Germanic world, the month of April once took the name Ostara's Month

 Northumbrian: Ēosturmōnaþ

West Saxon: Ēastermōnaþ

Old High German: Ôstarmânoth

There is a Germanic custom of Fire Wheels which were associated with the spring goddess, an ancient ritual that the German National Socialist were proud to revive - and the custom now continues throughout Germany today. This involved rolling a flaming Sun-Cross down the hills - this wheel being the Osterraeder - or Ostara Rad (Ostara-Wheel).
